Avoid these common mistakes and your candle will last longer and your candle burn experience will be more enjoyable.
1. Not trimming the wick
If you do not trim the wick, the candle will emit smoke and burn evenly. It is likely that a lot of wax will remain on the sides of the container (this is the so-called tunneling effect). As a result, the burn time of the candle will be shorter, e.g. only 20 hours instead of 33.
To avoid this, trim the candle wick to 6mm each time before lighting it up. You can do this right away even before the first burn.
2. Burning the candle too short
If you burn the candle for a short time, it will start to burn to the depth more than it burns to the sides and you will get the same candle tunneling effect - not using the candle to its full potential
To avoid this, burn the candle at least until the entire surface of the candle has melted, ideally around 2-3 hours.
3. The candle is extinguished incorrectly
If you extinguish the candle by covering it with a cap, the wax absorbs the smoke and thus spoils the scent of the candle. We also do not recommend blowing it out, because then the smoke spreads around the room.
We recommend extinguishing the candle using a candle snuffer or wick dipper by bending the wick into the wax and folding it back. It's so simple and you'll avoid unnecessary smoke.
